Daily Bible Reading Day 138

2Kings 18-19; John 6:22-44.  Hezekiah becomes king. He trusts fully in The Lord. He made great reforms. Got rid of the high places and the altars. Even got rid of the serpent which Moses made in the wilderness. Apparently it was worshipped by Israel. He rebelled against Assyria. Then Assyria marched right into Judah and began capturing the other fortified cities. They came to Jerusalem and told them of their intentions - defeat Jerusalem. Hezekiah spread the letter from Assyria before The Lord in the temple and God responded that He would deal with Assyria. That night an angel went into Assyria's camp and 185,000 die in the camp of the Assyrians. The king of Assyria goes back to Nineveh and is killed in the house of his god.

Jesus is found by the people. He says they seek him not because they saw signs and believed but because he fed them. He tells them to seek for true food and then tells them that he is true food from heave. He has come to do his Father's will.
